After an early retirement, Dorothy and Hal took their house and boatbuilding skills from America to Europe to begin their thirty years of coastal and inland waterway cruising. Immersion in the five cities of England and France where the boats were built gave a real insight into European cultures. Building five steel canal boats enabled us to visit 12 countries by water. Dorothy's upbringing in Ohio, her teaching on both coasts of the USA, and her interest in food and travel have been the basis for 180 favorite recipes framed in travel stories.
